Fizzy Gin Cocktails – Let’s Get Fizzy With It

I love a good cocktail, especially when it’s easy to make and I can just use what I already have at home. It’s fun experimenting with new flavors and getting to play the role of mixologist for a bit. Gin has been a new spirit we’ve been experimenting with lately – it’s quickly become a favorite for whipping up fruity cocktails for the girls.

Here are two easy & colorful Gin fizz cocktails that can be easily mixed and matched using ingredients on hand. These are perfect for a weekend brunch or having fun at a girls night in… a make your own Gin Fizz bar would be so much fun.

Fruity Gin Fizz Cocktail Recipe

To make this basic fruity Gin fizz cocktail recipe you will need:

• 1 ½ ounces of your favorite Gin
• 1 ounce simple syrup (recipe below)
• 3 ounces of something fizzy like champagne, fizzy fruit juice, or sparkling water
• Ice or frozen fruit
• Garnishes
• Your favorite cocktail glass, I used a Collins glass for these cocktails

Gin Fizz Cocktail Simple Syrup Recipe

Simple syrup is one easy way you can incorporate fruity flavors into the cocktails.

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¼ fruit of choice, you can use whole fruit* or fruit juice
  • A squeeze bottle for storage

1. In a saucepan over medium heat, add your fruit or fruit juice, sugar and water and stir to combine.

2. Bring your mixture to a boil and let the sugar dissolve.

3. Turn the heat down to low and let simmer for about 5 minutes; you should have a thick, but pourable syrup.

*If using whole fruit, after step 3, remove from heat and let fruit steep in the simple syrup for another 10 minutes. Strain fruit out of the mixture and store in your squeeze bottle in the fridge.

Gin Fizz Cocktail Prickly Pear Lemonade

To make the fizzy Prickly Pear Gin lemonade you will need:

  •  1 ½ ounces of your favorite Gin
  • 1 ounce prickly pear syrup
  • 3 ounces lemonade
  • 1 ounce sparkling water
  • Fresh lemon slices
  • Ice cubes
  • Snow Cone Ball

1. To the Collins glass, add ice and lemon slices, gin, and lemonade and gently stir. Top the cocktail with sparkling water, leaving about a half inch of room at the top of your glass for the snow cone ball.

2. To make a snow cone ball, you’ll need crushed ice. You can do this in your blender or use an at home snow cone machine. Shape your ice into a ball and add to your glass.

3. After adding your snow cone ball, take your prickly pear syrup and drizzle over your snow cone ball.

Gin Fizz Cocktail Frosted Berry & Orange

To make the frosted berry and orange Gin fizz cocktails you will need:

  • 1 ½ ounces of your favorite Gin
  • 1 tbsp fruit puree
  • 3 ounces fizzy orange soda (preferably one made from juice)
  • Frozen berries in place of ice
  • Fresh berries and orange slices for garnish

1. Add your fresh fruit puree, gin, and orange soda to the glass. Gently stir, cause that fizzy drink is ready to party. Make sure to leave enough room to add frozen berries to keep the drinks cold.

2. Garnish with fresh strawberries, frozen fruit skewers, and orange slices.

A note on garnishes! You can customize your Gin cocktails a million different ways, but the garnish is my favorite part and the WOW for any cocktail. Here are some fun ideas on how to garnish your Gin Fizz.

  • Cotton Candy Puff
  • Colored Sugar Rim
  • Candy Skewers
  • Edible Flowers
  • Edible Gold Leaf

Now get to shakin’, or gently stirring;), because you’re gonna rock these cocktails! For a celebration, use champagne and make your own twist on a French 75. For a winter fizz, try fig and vanilla simple syrup or apples and cinnamon.
