Banana Boat Kids Sunscreen Review

This Banana Boat Kids Sunscreen Review sponsored by Banana Boat®. The opinions are all mine.

Summer is our favorite season of the year, well, ever since we moved to Reno/Tahoe. Whether it is meeting friends at the lake, enjoying a backyard BBQ, or just busting out a slip-n-slide on the lawn, there’s nothing quite like summer. Somehow these long days tend to produce the fondest memories that last a lifetime. What’s on your summer bucket list? We have found that the best way to get the most out of summer is to be prepared for all the kids summer activities early!

Even though we just got home from spring break, here are 3 great tips for getting ready for all those kids summer activities coming your way quick. The most obvious of which is to get your sunscreen plan ready now.

1. Buy summer fun items now.

If you buy all your fun summer items earlier in the season – like this amazing swan floatie – then you get your pick of all the fun items. No more running to the store on the way to the lake or the pool and ending up with a princess floatie for your son. I like to start early and fill a plastic bin in the garage with summer fun items as I see them. We try them out first, then put them away, on the first day of summer we open the bin and the kids are busy for days! It’s like Christmas in 100 degree weather. ;)

2. Bust out all the items when you get home

Tell your kids to put on their bathing suits and get out all the cool items you bought. This will allow you plenty of time to realize their suits no longer fit them. Plus, it just gets everyone excited about all the fun you are going to have outdoor this summer. Every time we do this we make fun summer drinks (kid-friendly, of course), put on some Beach Boys and just make a fun day out of it. Oh, and it’s usually an after school surprise (mostly because I randomly buy all the stuff on a whim, they see it when they get home, and the party just kind of starts).

3. Always make sure you are stocked up on sunscreen

There’s never a mom-fail quite as big as forgetting sunscreen when going to the beach. EEEK!

Mostly, because you are left to watch your children burn or do the mom-walk-of-shame of asking complete strangers to borrow their sunscreen for your child. To prevent this, we usually buy 3-4 bottles of Banana Boat® Kids Sport Sunscreen Lotion Spray with PowerStay™ Technology at Walmart around this time of year. I put the sunscreen away when I am putting all the other fun items away so there is no chance I forget it on beach day!

banana boat spray sunscreenWe’ve tried out a lot of sunscreens in the past and really like using the Banana Boat Kids sunscreen. Just check out the specifications to see why I love using it:

  • Banana Boat Kids Sunscreen provides safe and effective broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection
  • It has a tear-free and sting-free formula that’s mild and gentle enough for kids’ sensitive skin – which is very important in our house
  • Light-weight, quick absorbing formula that won’t run into eyes
  • The sunscreen is water-resistant formula (up to 80 minutes)

I just love that I can spray the Banana Boat Kids Sunscreen on my littles quickly (and let’s be honest, they spray it on me too) and that it is water resistant for up to 80 minutes – cause mama needs her uninterrupted beach time too.
