reason to celebrate | Simon Bajada

03.22.12 Posted in design, reasons, Styled. feature by Victoria

I am in love with the food styling of Simon Bajada. With his bright and airy light style, he certainly brings in fresh inspiration for this season of brunches, showers and deck parties!

Via Simplesong, also he photographed the most beautiful cookbook.

home post No. 1 | the tour

03.20.12 Posted in Celebrate at home, design, Favorite by Victoria

The most compelling feature about home design for me, is the interjection of my passions and personality into my space. I was honestly a bit nervous about sharing our home on Design Sponge yesterday. Your encouragement about it meant the world! Thx.

I love celebrating everyday and desire our home to exemplify my passions and love for that. You can see the full sneak peak, if you’d like and below are the rest of the photos that I loved of our home. I will be posting a few more home DIY’s and everyday celebrating posts this spring and doing this photo shoot with Lemarire photography seems like the perfect jumping off point for a new season.

With two active toddlers running around and a business to run, our home needs to wrinkle well. It needs to be able to withstand a bit of daily chaos and still look pretty. I include vintage and thrifted furniture painted in bright hues, a deep recovered sofa and small details to make this a reality for us. Read on for the rest of the tour.

merrymaking 3.16.2012

03.16.12 Posted in design, weekend by Victoria

I had a big change of plans this weekend due to a heavy mountain storm and have found myself home with unintended free time. What would you do with a couple extra free evenings? I will be off finding special indulgences to fill them with:) Also, a few celebration links that I’ve been meaning to share with you. Happy weekend!

Pretty striped printable gift wrap.
Embroidered bunny favor bags, embroidered post cards + embroidered favor boxes from last year.
Bright heart cake topper.
A present house.
This cake is beautiful!
Two easy St. Patrick’s Day projects from the archives here and here.

I was so honored that The Huffington Post named my celebrate Pinterest board one of their Five Hot to Follow. You can follow the board too, here.

PS. We are almost sold out for the May business of blogging class (hooray!) so I’ve decided to open another class in July. Check it out here if you’d like. I cannot wait to work one-on-one with you to develop your blogs and business plans. It is going to be great!

cutting pizza at a wedding

03.13.12 Posted in design, weddings by Victoria

My love for Italy grows a bit more every time I set eyes on an event there. I know the world is in love with Paris, but I swear Italian brides have the biggest smiles and happiest celebrations. I want to live where fresh pizza is made in front of wedding guests and everyone knows how to throw a great dinner party.

PS. Other reasons I love Italy; the rolling of the cheese, this smiling bride and a town I could definitely call home.

merrymaking 3.9.2012

03.09.12 Posted in design, weekend by Victoria

Today it is finally beginning to feel like spring, which has put me in the mood for flowers, eggs and stringing up lights on the deck. I am loving this Bohemian table from Mondrgreen’s spring look book. The exaggerated bunnies, gorgeous spring light and fairytale nature are the perfect inspirations for a pretty Easter celebration.

A few other merriments that I’ve wanted to share.
A DIY magazine from Russia. I cannot read a word, but the projects are tempting and the photography pretty.
Just for the record, we are in support of the Nutella bandwagon around here.
I’m guessing these scissors were made for shredding important papers, but all I can think about it quickly making confetti!
Last night a friend brought over this drink to share. It was awesome, in spite of the name:)
A stunning floral study.
Did you know you can box up old stuff and send it to Amazon? They will sell it for you very cheaply and you can use the proceeds to host your first spring party on the deck (hooray!)
Very funny paper dolls.

PS. This week we launched Styled. magazine issue five and an online blogging class! Your response has been encouraging, as always. Thanks so much. xo.

the business of blogging

03.08.12 Posted in business, design by Victoria

So you’ve started a blog. You’re gaining a following, heck you’re kind of good at it. In fact, more often than not you find yourself wishing that blogging could just be your job. The only problem: you have no idea how to actually make that happen.

I receive emails often asking for advice and mentorship in this area. Since I cannot respond to everyone, I’ve designed this four week course where I will take you through the process of creating a business from your blog. Kind of like a degree in the business of blogging.

This course is perfect for any type of blog niche; from mommy bloggers, to photographers, designers, even food lovers! You will leave the course with the tools, training and skills to grow your blog into a profitable + sustainable business.

I am so grateful for the platform this blog has given me to help support my family and I am excited for the chance this course gives me to share all I have learned in the process. Read more about the class and secure your spot here (the class is limited in number because of the personal component).

reason to celebrate | meat market

03.07.12 Posted in adult parties, design, ideas, Styled. feature by Victoria

Matt’s birthday is coming up soon and I’m hoping to do something special for him this year (he usually has to share with me since we have the same birthday). I am thinking a manly meat theme. He really likes steak and with the local farms around it would be easy to plan a meat centered party.

A few ideas I am loving for it include; a meat party pack, this bright sign, salami favors, well designed meat packaging and meat-tooth invitations!

Styled. magazine issue five | the art of merrymaking

03.06.12 Posted in design by Victoria

I am thrilled to be sharing our March issue of Styled. magazine with you today. This issue has been great fun to put together. Sharing from the twin’s birthday is really special for me and the chance I had to paint in bright pink during Reno’s recent week of snow storms made me exceptionally happy. I am beyond excited to showcase Samantha’s work as our new graphic designer. I think you will notice a huge difference in the quality of our magazine moving forward (she is awesome!). I’m also grateful this season for all our contributors and sponsors who make this magazine happen every month, it is truly a labor of love for us all. Enjoy!

PS. Click on article titles in the magazine if you’d like to pin, save, search, share, comment, or see more of the story in blog form.
