    Fall-ebration

11.11.10 Posted in Features, party by Victoria

I have been so wrapped up in holiday decorations this week it is hard to remember it’s not December yet! I have a few lovely fall-esk things to share with you on top of the Christmas beauty that I obviously cannot get enough of.

Rubyellen threw this amazing celebration of fall for her family. I just adore the simplicity of it, they hung leaf garland from a mirror, gave each of their kids a pair of vintage fall shoes to celebrate the season and made the most wonderful sounding pumpkin smoothies!

My favorite piece from the party was the pretty length of fall leaf bunting she handmade and stuck into a pizza. Pizza bunting!!! What great inspiration for celebrating everyday with the people you love.

A menu with fresh fall ingredients was the focal point of their evening. A wonderful reminder of how crafting even a small celebration can really serve and bless our families as we enter this holiday season together.

    Handcrafted birthday in Italy

10.27.10 Posted in design, Features by Victoria

We have finally decided on a theme for the upcoming second birthdays in our home, an eighties rock party! Music and dancing are my kids favorite things so I am sure it will be thrilling. Since I have music on my mind, I want to share an amazing handcrafted 40th birthday celebration styled by Valdirose, over in Italy.

Music and love collided to bring this sweet and insanely beautiful party to creation. With a focus on vintage records and players that were handed down through her family and many other old world touches. I adore every piece of this lovely celebration.

Each guest received an eat-drink-play kit that had everything they need for eating + a CD favor, complete with adorable straw flags announcing the reason for celebration.

A fabulous job celebrating a guy’s birthday with incredible charming details.

    Handcrafted party- Modern birdie

10.11.10 Posted in birthdays, design, events, Features, kid parties, summer parties by Victoria

I love knowing that the DIY projects & the many celebrations in our party gallery are helping to inspire your own events. From birthdays to weddings there are so many gorgeous ideas that have been designed and created to bless you in planning your next celebration.

Jess, from Such Is Life Photography recently threw a birthday party and was inspired by the birthday bingo game I designed. She adapted it to her theme and threw one of the most artistic and beautifully photographed celebrations I have seen…

The entire event was lovingly crafted by hand- the decor, party hats, games, favors and even the birthday girls dress!

A very modern take on the popular birdie theme made this birthday drop dead gorgeous! Plus, after all the crafting was done, Jess got to hear her 3 year old exclaim, “mommy, we made a party”. Which, in my opinion is the most lovely award one can receive for crafting something by hand.

You can download the bingo game I designed HERE and enjoy scrolling through the rest of the galleries to be inspired by one splendid celebration after another!

    School chairs & ribbons

10.08.10 Posted in design, Features by Victoria

Designing a celebration filled with girlie touches can bring great joy. This wonderland theme birthday sent in by Tabitha is so pretty and the details are just the perfect shade of gorgeous to make any little girl’s heart glad.

From printed favor tags to streamers hanging down in the forest, every aspect of this birthday was handcrafted. Ribbon backed school chairs were quite a lovely way to make each place setting seem fairytalesc, I just adore them!

The table was set out for tea in the forest under a canopy of trees where cotton candy, butterfly shaped andwiches and potion bottles filled with sweet drinks were served up to the party guests.

    Dish dinners

10.04.10 Posted in design, Features by Victoria

Happy Monday and welcome to a new week of celebrating together!

If you’re ever looking for a reason to party, this idea is perfect. Dish, a series of dinners I recently came across defined as… a group of friends that get together and dish about the arts, being creative, business and life. Their meals and party designs are so fresh, I can only imagine the amazing creative conversations being had.

What a great idea, I would completely adore dishing with my friends over a good meal and lovely design.

PS. An fun DIY from the girls who dish later today.

    Handcrafted party, sew thoughtful

10.01.10 Posted in design, Features by Victoria

I remember very clearly when the “nesting instinct” kicked in with the twins. I still have a large bin of fabric that was hastily bought in a mad dash to sew at 32 weeks pregnant.

In honor of all those crazy pregnant instincts this sweet sewing shower styled by Casey is a great celebration to end our week together on.

Cheerful fabric bunting, adorable cupcake flags & a pretty fabric corsage are just a few of the details lovingly sewn together for this very lucky mom-to-be.

    Fall celebration, watermelon

09.24.10 Posted in Challenges, design, Features by Victoria

*Welcome to our fall celebration challenge. This weeks posts will feature a few of my favorite event designers & their visions for fall seen through a handcrafted celebration. Enjoy the inspiration and share why you love their work by leaving a comment below- you could even win something rad, details here.

One last dose of fall inspiration to close out our week, today Sharon of Cupcakes and Cutlery created a lovely vegetable filled dinner & a movie.

In her own words: I knew right away that I wanted to do the photo shoot at an amazing local restaurant called Park Ave in Stanton, CA.  They maintain a gorgeous vegetable garden behind the restaurant and it lent itself perfectly to the harvest vibe.

I came across the great floral print fabric with greens, blues, brown and gold, I knew it was the perfect palate for this event.  The addition of various types of ropes added a more natural element that played off the colors in the fabrics.  And corn husk decorations including the Corn Husk Candles kept the colors from getting to heavy.

I’ve always wanted to host an outdoor movie night so I took this opportunity to stage it instead.  A fun piece of this celebration is that after a fabulous fresh dinner, our group heads outside to the movie “theater.”

I wanted to use the Corn Husk Candles to mimic the rope lights used in movie theaters.  I lined them around the seating area so when the sun went down, you would be able to find your way without stumbling in to the just planted beds.  I would never expect any of my friends to sit on a bare hay bale for an entire movie so my friend, Carole, sewed these covers for me.  You may notice, as an added bonus, there is a pocket on the side to hold bottled water, flashlights and snacks.  And to counter act the effects of all the sugary movie goodies, I put out little burlap favor bags to share the abundant harvest with my friends to enjoy later.

I created a beverage station with hot and cold options and a movable concession stand. The fall harvest shines through fresh veggies everywhere including those just planted, on the vine and ready for the taking.

PS. The DIY for the festive corn husk candles coming up later today!

    blessings.
