feather wreath

This festive wreath was originally designed as a movable art piece for our crafted gift guide. I ended up loving it so much, does that ever happen to you? So much… that it seems to have found a permanent home as our indoor mantel wreath.

It was crafted using EZ’s feather tutorial onto single layer felt. I wrapped an old canvas in tea dyed white felt and laid the feathers right onto it. The felt on felt combo makes a perfect adhesive for the wreath. It is basically a grown up felt board, remember those from childhood?

In a circular form with a small velvet bow the wreath makes a simple modern Christmas decoration. The perfect piece for a wall in need of festive spirit.

My favorite feature of this piece is that you can move the feathers into a heart, add a bit add a dash of pink and take the decoration right into February. Then line the feathers up with another pretty accent color and you have a perfectly organized art piece for spring. The one super simple project gives a festive home decor piece to use all year long!

PS. If you can manage letting one go, the wreath makes a great gift to give:)

blessings.
