Fiesta party ideas

This coming season is my favorite time of the year for throwing a party. I know I might say that every season, but you know how much I love to celebrate — and I truly mean it each time I say it! Between my birthday, Matt’s birthday, about 127 friends who have birthdays, Cinco De Mayo, Mother’s day, Earth Day… it seems there is always a reason to celebrate.

Hosting a fiesta is a great way to celebrate everything we have to cheer about in a bright, festive, and easy way. We are in the midst of planning one and here are a couple of the ideas I’m working on.

Start by making the door something truly special. Bring in the theme with printed fiesta banner. I love the idea of always pulling my front door into the theme; it is the first thing that guests see when they walk up to the house, and making a serious party statement at the entrance always sets us up for success.

A bright treat! I’ve learned over time that no matter the party, making it bright always seems to elicit joy from our friends. Perhaps my people are just prone to pink? Whether you normally run to color or not, this is a great time of year to bring out all the bright bling. Adorn treats and sweets with bright text banners and large pieces of colorful confetti. Stick a sweet like this in the center of the table and you’ll be nearly done with party decor.

Finish off the space with bright confetti filled balloons, tassel flag drink stirs, and a gorgeous rendition of a classic piñata for serious fiesta party style.

With all these bright details the food should be decidedly easy. I prefer grilling while guests are mingling, having fresh tortillas, colorful peppers and your soon-to-be famous Guac set out for enjoying. RO*TEL’s Rockin’ Guac recipe has an awesome green chili zest to it and is made with a great blend of tomatoes. Pair your homemade guac with Bud Light Lime-A-Ritas for a refreshingly great fiesta party combo.
