Inside: A festive green lemonade we like to call The Green Leprechaun!
St. Patrick’s Day is coming up in just a week. Even with our crazy exciting launching of Materially Crafted, the holiday has not been forgotten. With small kids in tow, the best way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day is definitely turning normal everyday items green. My kids totally get a kick out of “the leprechaun” who visits the school and randomly turns items green. Here’s a sweet version of this concept to make at home.
Green leprechaun lemonade that has been turned green with the help of lime flavored Popsicles makes a lemon/lime drink that is festive and fabulously tasty.
*Pro tip: The lemonade easily is switched out with hard lemonade for a more grown-up St. Patrick’s Day party. Cheers!
To make the green leprechaun lemonade
Fill glasses with green Popsicles. This can be done beforehand if needed, just place the glasses back in the freezer until you are ready to use them. Then fill with lemonade (Pink Lemonade is my favorite kind). As the Popsicles melt, the lemonade will take on more and more of the green coloring.
Leprechaun in action before your eyes!
For a healthier version of this sweet drink treat, make your own yogurt Popsicles to use instead.
With all the book launch festivities this week, I am looking forward to a weekend at home drinking green lemonade and showing the kids this great short on St. Patrick. Have a fun one! xoxo
