How to smell pretty at parties

How to smell pretty at parties

We have an outdoor wedding to attend this weekend, and I’m Italian, which means I glisten well. ;) As it is with all summer parties, I start to get nervous about how my aroma will affect the way I feel and look celebrating under the sweltering sun. Last summer I found out this great trick to ensure I continue smelling pretty all party long…

I spray a homemade (oil based) spritz in my hair!

It keeps me smelling great the entire party. I also pack a travel spray in my purse in case I want to freshen up. Unlike spraying perfume on my body, the hair spritz revives itself every time I fling or twirl my locks. Releasing a lift of prettiness as I walk to the bar, dance, and mingle the day away.

This trick has revolutionized how confident I feel at summer parties. No matter how great I might look, smelling pretty seems to give that extra boost of confidence I need to celebrate well.

To make the hair spritz all we need are a couple ingredients and a small spray bottle. Keep the spray in the fridge when not in use and it should last a couple weeks. Over the last year I’ve tried a bunch of different combinations for my own homemade hair spritz and found a few I really love.

My 3 favorite homemade hair spritz recipes

1) 1/4 cup filtered water + juice from 1/2 an orange + 2 drops of Lavender essential oil.

This is my all time favorite combo. The lavender and citrus combo smells pretty and festive.

2) 1/4 cup brewed rosemary tea + 3 drops of tea tree oil.

This combo smells earthy. It’s great for the lake, pool, or anywhere you don’t want to smell to fruity.

3) 1/4 cup rosewater + 2 drops of lemon essential oil

This fresh summer smell is perfect for everyday celebrations from playdates to picnics. I use it on my pillow at night too.

To use the homemade hair spritz; spray throughout the hair, right behind your ears and along the temple for a gorgeous smelling glisten all party long.

Note* Because this is an oil based hair spritz, try it out before the big party to ensure you know how it will affect your styling.

PS. Would you ever try dating by smell and how to temporarily dye your hair with Kool-Aid.
