My favorite thing about cakes is how great they taste. My least favorite thing about them is how long they take to make. Enter in my new favorite mug cake recipe. Filled with all the chocolate goodness I love about a cake, with no mess and made in just 2 minutes in the microwave! This chocolate mug cake is a treat I will splurge on any day of the week.

Father’s Day is in less than one week! This simple idea will allow your kids to help and is sure to win the way to any dad’s heart. Microwave mug cakes with bright printable gift tags are a great option for a gift the whole family can help to create. The microwave cooking technique gives instant gratification, and after cooking the kids can easily pile on dad’s favorite toppings, making the cake a thoughtful way to end a special meal.

Mug Cakes With Printable Gift Tags

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp chocolate chips
  • Salt
  • Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mug and stir.
  2. Add dash of salt and a dash of vanilla extract on top of the mixture in the mug.
  3. Microwave on high for 2 minutes.

Recipe Notes

Add in dad's favorite toppings - pecans, chocolate chips, brown sugar or sprinkles to make the cake special.

Treat dad or anyone you love to this easy mug cake. Make it in 2 minutes! Can’t beat that for a tasty and sweet treat.
