The Fuzziest No-Sew Pillow Covers

Inside: The coolest no sew pillow covers.

We are waiting excitedly for the upcoming release of Beauty and The Beast (this weekend!), so when I was asked to review Beauty and The Beast: Belle’s Library which is an adorable book filled with Belle’s favorite quotes and inspirations, my girl and I were easily engrossed. Crafting these no-sew pillow covers to brighten up our reading nook and snuggled in to read the book plus a new spin-off novel from Jennifer Donnelly, Beauty and The Beast: Lost in a Book. Spending the afternoon being inspired by all that is Belle’s love for books.

While reading we rested on my favorite bench seat ever and our new no-sew pillow covers that are a funky + comfy reminder of the joy that can come from sitting in a warm window seat and enjoying a good book.

The perfect reading nook

This reading nook is a part of our ASR studio at home and it used more afternoons than not as a comfy place to sit in the warm afternoon sun reading a book. It’s become a favorite of the whole family and I’m not going to lie – a big part of the comfort are those big no-sew pillow covers.

I was actually looking for a bench cover for a long time. One to fit in this window and randomly stumbled upon these large 40-inch x 40-inch pillows. I quickly grabbed all four of them and used fabric glue to attach the sides of each pillow to the next. The result is a custom window seat that is possibly the comfiest seat in our entire house and was very affordable to create.

To finish off the reading nook we created these colorful no-sew pillow covers that spell out – READ! You could create them to say just about anything imaginable for a reading nook, kid’s playroom or anywhere that needs a dose of spunky fun. Our local fabric store has such a great selection of this faux fur in stock right now. I bought more than I could carry home. Gah… I love it all!

No Sew Pillow Covers

To make the no-sew pillow covers you will need:

  • Faux Fur
  • Batting
  • A loaded glue gun (or fabric glue)
  • Paper template for the pillows
  • Scissors

How to make these No-Sew Pillow Cover

1. Start by cutting out the fur from the paper template. One easy trick I learned is that you should never cut the fur from the top of it as you’ll cut off the hair like pieces, but instead trace your design onto the back and use good fabric scissors or an x-acto knife to cut through the backing of the fur without chopping off the “hair” on the other side.

2. Once the fur is cut – use hot glue to finish off the seems! Trust me on this one. Hot glue works amazing on this fabric and gave us a wonderfully finished look. Without the hassle of trying to sew on an impossible fabric. Hot glue about 80% of the letter and then stuff it before finishing the no-sew pillow covers off.
