No one is having very much fun when the kids are home sick. To brighten spirits, create a “Get Well” care pack filled with balloons. The care pack has everything they need to enjoy the day from books to toys and even a jar of Vicks® VapoRub™ that is the perfect size for small kid hands to hold. Encourage the kids to pop a balloon whenever they are feeling bored (for small kids you can pop them yourself) to reveal a fun toy, or sweet treat to enjoy while they rest off the current bout of sickness.
Kids’ Sick Day Care Pack
To make the Get Well Care Pack you will need:
- Vicks® VapoRub™
- Toys, treats and books for the kids to enjoy
- Markers for writing fun sayings and pictures on the balloons
- A box to hold it all in
1. Put the toys into the balloons before blowing them up. Blow up each balloon and create sweet words and cute photos to make the care pack extra fun.
2. Give the older kids a toothpick and allow them to pop their own balloons whenever they need a little pick me up.
It’s the little things when they are sick… like fun balloon care packs and rubbing Vicks® VapoRub™ on the kids that they will remember when they get older. Vicks is the #1 Pediatrician Recommended cough rub (Symphony Health Solutions ProVoice™ Survey, June-July 2016). We use Vicks® VapoRub™ to help us get back on our feet when a cough takes us down. I love that it encourages touch with my kids as I can gently soothe them by rubbing it on their backs. And now I can encourage them too with this fun balloon care pack. It’s a combo that will make everyone a little less sad for the bouts of sicknesses during the season.
Get well! What are your tricks for making a sick day at home better? We’ve had a number of them already this year – so finding easy solutions to keep everyone happy and healthy is on the top of my list.
