This post is in partnership with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

We’ve been on spring break for a full week already and we have one week left to go. I adore the chance spring break gives me for family time and fun with the kids. We’ve been crafting, exploring and watching long afternoon movies together. Finding crafts & movies that everyone loves takes a little planning, but the fun of enjoying the break is so worth it. Incase you have an afternoon to spare, I’d suggest popping in the newly released SING Special Edition on Blu-ray and DVD, and crafting adorable pig rings inspired by the vibrant Rosita (voiced by Reese Witherspoon) from the movie.

We laughed out loud while having a family afternoon watching the movie and then stacked up all the pig rings we could! SING is a wonderful, funny, heartwarming film with great music and a fantastic cast. These rings could be made to mirror whoever the favorite character is, it’s an easy project that the kids can even help with and a fun way to bring the show to life for everyone.

Pick up a copy of the SING Special Edition Blu-ray in stores for your next family movie afternoon. The music-filled comedy includes over 60-minutes of bonus content and three all-new entertaining mini movies featuring the cast from SING as well as an exclusive Tori Kelly music video and a variety of musical extras.

Hot Glue Pig Rings

To make these fun hot glue rings you will need:

  • A plastic ice cube mold in whichever animal you choose (Here’s the one we used for Rosita, here’s one for Meena & for Mike)
  • Hot glue and a glue gun
  • Simple rings
  • Nail polish to color the glue

1. Start by filling the ring molds about 1/2 way with the hot glue (if the kids are young this can be done beforehand). Allow the glue to fully dry before popping the ring tops out of the molds.

2. Next glue the ring tops to the rings with a dab of hot glue on the back.

3. Now it’s time to paint – nail polish works best to get vibrant colors for the rings. Once painted allow to fully dry before adorning.

From Illumination, the studio that brought you The Secret Life of Pets and the Despicable Me franchise, comes an animated comedy about finding the music that lives inside all of us. SING stars Academy Award® winner Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, an eternally optimistic koala who puts on the world’s greatest singing competition to save his crumbling theater; Academy Award® winner Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, an overworked and unappreciated mother of 25 piglets desperate to unleash her inner diva; Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a punk rock porcupine with a beautiful voice behind her prickly exterior; Taron Egerton as Johnny, a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family’s felonies; as well as Seth MacFarlane, John C. Reilly, and Grammy Award-nominated Tori Kelly. SING is the musical comedy event of the year!
