Making a dusty wood mantel feel like a cozy Christmas scene was a wonderful chance to inject lively bright notions of joy. The yarn poms I shared recently took center stage designed in white and resting in an egg cup. Making me to believe snow may just be arriving here any day.
I filled our old stockings with a hidden vase of fresh pretty flowers and hung them with care, a perfect use for the empty hangings until presents come our way.
To finish it off one sweet tree branch, spray painted white and hot glued to the wall. I painted small furniture pads red (an idea found here) and stuck them on tight for our ornament display.

PS. For the record, I actually did not intend to leave the mantel dusty but when the photos arrived I was so happy I did. The dusty wood sets the perfect mood for our family Christmas display!
