Move over cranberries… there’s a new festive Christmas favorite to string. Bubblegum! I stumbled upon one very large jar of bright bubblegum the other day and just knew it needed a second life strung up as garland on one of my trees.
Stringing up sweets is an old holiday tradition. We’ve done popcorn, cranberries, and other goodies in past years, but none quite gives the immediate festive umph that this bubblegum does.
The garland couldn’t be easier to make! Simply thread a needle, poke through the center of a gum-ball, and repeat x100 or a 1000 – or as many strands as you can stand.
So string your heart out to a good ol’ Christmas movie next week and get a jump start on decorating this year with our favorite Christmas vibe – bright, festive, and filled with whimsical fun!

I was going to do the very same thing this year as I am doing a Candyland Christmas/Nutcracker Sweets theme this year. I love how yours turned out!
Jen, I love the idea of a candy land Christmas. How fun!
my kids would go crazy for this! such a fun idea!
This is brill. I’m totally doing it for my Christmas tree.
LOVE! :)
This is awesome, I just love bold eye-poping colour! If this was on my tree the sweet smell of bubblegum would be too tempting to resist! I have a similar idea with different sweets that I am blogging next week. I am creating a neon licorice allsorts inspired Christmas tree.
Utterly in love with this diy, such a cute way to decorate the tree while adding pops of color!
Very cute…..and colorful!!
Can this be reused next season? If so how must I store it so that the gumballs don’t melt?
