Tis’ the season for New Years resolutions and cantaloupe martinis.
This year I can’t seem to wrap my mind around how many of my resolutions seem to contradict each other. Does that ever happen to you? For instance, I want to eat more fruits… but also enjoy more cocktail parties with friends. How do I choose? This refreshing cantaloupe martini handles both the resolutions. And it tastes amazing too.
Fresh fruit filled cocktails are like a kind resolution hand holder (them and maybe raw fruit birthday cakes).
Cantaloupe is one of the fruits that you can still find fresh this time of year. Which makes grabbing a melon and mixing up this yummy drink a high priority to celebrate making it through the first work week of the year.
To make the cantaloupe martinis you will need:
- 8 oz. cantaloupe puree
- 5 oz. vodka
- 2 oz. triple sec
- Fresh lime juice
- Fennel seeds
- Salt
Cantaloupe Martini
- Cut the cantaloupe into small square pieces, discard the rind.
- Puree the cantaloupe in a blender until smooth.
- Mix all ingredients together (besides salt & fennel seeds) in the cocktail shaker and add ice. Shake well.
- Pour the cantaloupe martinis into chilled glasses. Garnish with salt + fennel seeds and pieces of cantaloupe on toothpicks. Recipe makes 2 martinis.
Cheers to celebrating well (and eating more fruits!) this year.
