Chocolate holiday countdown

Today is the first day of December! My favorite month of the year :). Christmas music has been blaring all morning long and I am thrilled to be counting down to the holiday with festive DIY projects, recipes, and simple ideas all month long! First up, one easy way to countdown the holiday at home, or at the office, or anywhere that a nice stash of chocolate will help you get through the crazy, wonderful season we’ve just begun. We all need a little moment of escape in the midst of our busy hostessing and celebrating this month.

Paper carton countdown

I absolutely love that simple paper cartons that can be lined up, set out, hung on a wreath… there are so many different ways to enjoy this countdown! Gift it to a friend, and keep one for yourself. If you’ve already begun counting down the season, a set of Lindt chocolate filled cartons will make a wonderful thank you gift, hostess gift, or special daily treat for a dear friend.

All that’s needed is a set of colorful paper, a printer, scissors, glue and a couple minutes to complete simple steps below. The cartons are a great size to fill with treats! You can fill them with Lindt novelty figures like mini Lindt Bears, Snowman, and Santa with his reindeer who will bring tasty excitement to everyone this holiday season.

Cut along the heavy lines and fold along the creases to make each little house. Tape or glue into place. Once the houses are constructed they can be hung on a string with small clothes pins for a traditional countdown, or use small pins to place them around a wreath for a festive holiday display.

Put together 7 of the houses for a final week countdown, or 31 to make it last all month long! Even if you don’t get them done until Thursday, these boxes are not numbered, there is no judgement for a late countdown start; but there is always time for chocolate! Just start whenever (maybe add a few extra pieces of chocolate) and enjoy a treat each day of the month.
