DIY Diamond Paper Wreath

I love a good wreath, I love to decorate with them and hang them wherever I can. I especially love creating new wreaths for each season to place on my front door. I look at it as the first impression for my guest walking into my home! This paper wreath has to be one of my all time favorites, it goes perfectly anywhere in my home!

This diamond paper wreath can be designed out of any paper color, taking the look from sweet and simple to stunning quite quickly. I love using bright primary colors along with fun textures like polka dots and dashes. Much like the diamond garland we created last year, this colorful piece is both graphics and fun! Mixing the paper diamonds makes a unique wreath that looks festively awesome any time of year.

These are a few of my other favorite wreath projects

Like I said before, I love wreaths of all kind. Here are just a few of my personal favorites!

How to make a diamond out of paper

To make the diamond paper wreath you will need:

  • Colorful paper cut into a square or square origami paper
  • A small metal wreath frame
  • Scissors
  • Glue

1. First fold the paper in half once and unfold. Fold the paper in half the other way so that you have 4 creases.

2. Then fold the paper in half diagonally both ways leaving you now with 8 creases across the paper.

3. Add another fold the paper onto itself, with the two sides pointed in, making a flat diamond shape.

4. Last fold each side point from the front and back into the center, then fold that fold inward to complete your basic diamond shape.

5. Use glue to attach the backsides of the diamonds to the metal wreath frame – skinny fold inward.

I can imagine a set of various sizes of this wreath hanging on a party wall or adorning the front windows welcoming guests in. The piece will also work more long-term hanging in a nursery or as a fun element for a colorful kids room. Cheers to hanging big doses of color and to celebrating this spring.
