important things…

This summer has been one crazy experience so far and I have a few bigish announcements that I’ve been meaning to share with you.

First, I’ve taken a new job and I feel like the luckiest gal in the world! You know how much I love teaching about blogging as a business through my e-course. Well, Alt is taking this a step further and has launched a new content focus for their blog. Two posts a day, all about being a more successful blogger, and I have the privilege of managing it!!!

I am writing some of the content and working with other successful bloggers to share their expertise daily. This week alone we’ve shared photography tips, advertising basics, encouragement for blogging vulnerability and a fun interview with Victoria Smith. Blogging as a business has become a topic I am incredibly passionate about, and the chance to manage a project as helpful as this for our community is the best. We are totally in this together.

Secondly, in an effort to focus clearly on what’s important in my life this season: like my crazy fast growing kids, this blog that I adore and a new family project we will be sharing soon. I will be taking a break from launching another issue of Styled. magazine this fall. The magazine has been a huge passion project for me and I LOVE producing it, but I am first and foremost a blogger. This blog comes first! I am thrilled for the chance “letting go” will give me to focus more efforts on making this space even brighter, bolder and better in the coming season. I will be incorporating some of the magazine layouts and ideas into the weekly blogging schedule. It’s going to be awesome, trust me:)

Thanks for reading friends. Photo above from the poolside in Vegas last week.

Congratulations! Great news – I’ll be stopping by for sure. Are you going to be at ALT NY? I am and would love to finally meet you.
Must have been hard to step out of something you love to make room for more great things – sometimes you need to let go to get somewhere even better. I look forward to all the great content.

Congratulation on this new job! I’m happy to learn that the Alt blog will get even more interesting and that you’ll be responsible for it! And bravo for being able to make the hard decision to focus on your blog and other blogging opportunities and accepting that it may mean postponing another project that you love (Styled Mag – which I love too!) We bloggers are the ones who put the most pressure on ourselves — but it’s ok to prioritize too. I can’t wait to find out what you have in store for your blog in the next few months.
