Gittler, sparkles and a whole lot of magic, these DIY unicorn pinatas are packed full of color and fun! See how we created these mini unicorn pinatas in just a few simple steps. Let us know in the comments what you would fill your pinata full of!
Iβve been dreaming up this idea all summer and was beyond thrilled to see these gorgeous photos from our newest contributor Brie pop into my mailbox last week. Transforming a ho-hum piΓ±ata may just be the best, most fabulous, easiest way to make a sparkling party statement. With the pinata base already intact, the project couldnβt be easier! Make these unicorn pinata cuties for favors, place seats, or just for the joy of it. Add cute candies, confetti or fun little toys to add that extra special flair! They will quickly make any party space sparkle with festive fun.
Here is a sprinkle of more magical fun
Add a dash of sparkle and fun with these fun unicorn DIYs! We love unicorns over here and have the perfect projects to create one magical get together! One of my favorites is these adorable unicorn horns!
For parties? Yes, of course!!! And also⦠maybe just for my desk. We all need a little magical power around, especially when magic looks this pretty. ;)
To make the miniature unicorn pinatas you will need a mini pinata (ours are from Target), white tissue paper, a variety of pastel tissue paper, white Elmerβs glue, scissors (Martha Stewart fringe scissors work great for making fringe), white cardstock, gold glitter, and black cardstock.
How to create a unicorn pinata
These adorable miniature unicorn pinatas are easy to make and only take a few simple steps. Plus you can customize them to match your inner magic!
Hereβs how to recreate this look:
1. First, you will need to strip the piΓ±ata of its original tissue paper.
2. Then cut long strips of folded in half tissue paper that are about 2 inches wide and fringe.
3. Starting at the bottom of the piΓ±ata, start layering the fringed strips of tissue paper one on top of each other, securing with glue.
4. Once the piΓ±ata is covered, add a unicorn tail by cutting long strips of different colored tissue paper and gluing them into the candy opening of the piΓ±ata. Take the same strips of pastel colored tissue paper and make the unicornβs mane by gluing strips to the piΓ±ata βneckβ one by one.
Donβt forget the horn! The sparkly unicorn horn was made simply by forming a cone from white cardstock and glittering it. Replace the eyes from your original piΓ±ata or cut the unicorns eye from black cardstock and glue them on. And with that, you have created your very own magical beast!
Let us know in the comments what your favorite unicorn projects is! I have to admit these pint-sized magical creatures sure do make me smile!

September 20, 2016 at 6:21 amAnon, It totally does! This post is from last fall (2015). I hate that they so often steal other bloggers content and run it as their own. But Iβm just going to keep creating and keep celebrating! Thanks.
