The Christmas season is a time to open our homes to each other. We celebrate, feast and drink to a season of hope and joy. Embrace the party, invite other in, no matter what your flaws your house may hold. A little spray paint, ribbon and good company make all the difference. Just ask this old barn.
Wreaths are the perfect holiday decoration piece. A shaped bunch of evergreen looks good Juxtaposed against any wall imaginable. If you are in need of a last minute piece to pull the party together, then gather an array of plain wreaths and decorate with ribbons before hanging. They effect makes any space seem like a welcoming beckon of holiday cheer.
Grab a can of gold spray paint and add glam to the otherwise mundane. Branches from the yard become an instant centerpiece, twigs transform into stylish trinkets. Tired canning jars take on a glamorous new life. Even plain everyday ornaments will shine with a glitzy upgrade.
Three easy ways to open your home for the holidays:
1) Make a burlap floral bouquet- the often overlooked burlap can transform into a beautiful bouquet of flowers to easily grace your tables with a rustic home-town holiday vibe.
2) Give guests the opportunity to spread the love by writing holiday cards as they come through the door. Purchase pretty cards and instruct your guests to write merry wishes on each one. Before the night is through pass them out and watch the joy unfold.
3) Invite guests to warm up with a mug of hot chocolate—complete with a gold bow—that they can doctor up themselves. All you need is a pot of hot chocolate and bowls of fixings. Try white and dark chocolate, caramels and peppermint.
