Paper streamer braided wrapping

When wrapping presents for a party I love to find simple elements to make my favorite gifts really stand out. A big, fussy, bow-filled wrap will never be my thing (Who has time for that when I was supposed to be at the party 20 minutes ago!?). Instead, I often find that a creative take on something easy makes an entire present stash come together in a bright and beautiful moment.

Which is why I love these crepe paper party streamers so much!

We all have a few extra rolls of crepe paper hanging around after that last celebration – use them in lieu of ribbons and bows to top presents in a way that screams, “It’s time to celebrate!”

Rope tied and bowed on top – the streamers are almost unrecognizable. Is that crazy expensive, gorgeous paper ribbon? Or is it $1 roll of paper party streamers!?! I’ve always had a small obsession with party streamers and I love seeing them go incognito in this new job as present toppers. If your time is running too short to even braid the ribbon… Well, just throw it on un-braided for a similarly festive style.

To make these streamers tied present toppers you’ll need streamers and scissors. It also helps to have something heavy to place on top of one end to hold it in place while you braid down the streamers.

Braid the streamers together. Do a trio of colors for a pretty rainbow hue or a single shade for a bold contrast to the simple wrapping job. Since the streamer rolls seem to never end, these braids can be made long enough to cover any size box.

Leave the ends to fray a bit for an immediate gorgeous bow. Tie into place and enjoy the gift of giving presents – no matter how late you are running out the door. Nobody ever said being on time to the party was what mattered… It’s the thought that counts. And this present topper will definitely show your thoughtfulness.
