Passionate crafting with the kids

We all have certain images of motherhood before it happens. Although your dreams may have been different then mine, I know they existed (don’t lie). Before the twins were born, I often daydreamed of us happily crafting together with their friends on play dates. The sun is streaming into my perfectly sparkling kitchen as I pull my home baked cookies out of the oven to serve with a well lipsticked smile. HA!

The reality of our life looks a little more chaotic than that. I’m often half way through cleaning up my own projects for the day as the kids get home from school, often a friend in tow – looking for something fun to do. I almost never have lipstick applied. Thankfully, the desire to come home and create with friends is one part of my ideal that somehow survived.

As a mom, it is super easy to get down on the ways I don’t quite live up – I rarely bake cookies (unless it’s for a blog post), my kitchen is only clean at night, and I don’t have a perfectly organized craft prepared everyday when they get home.

But we do have piles and piles of craft and party supplies – which I think makes my kiddos pretty lucky.

And I’m willing to let them get dirty in the process of creating.

We usually grab a quick Mott’s® Snack & Go applesauce pouch in place of home baked cookies. It’s a fun way for me to give the kids the real fruit goodness of Mott’s applesauce while we are grabbing all the supplies. Often we end up creating something really pretty, like these brushstroke balloons. And sometimes we end up with paint on our noses. ;)

I’ve learned that you don’t have to have every piece of the puzzle perfect to be happy. And whether it’s lunch packing, snack having, or art creating that we are passionate about – sometimes the joy is found in letting go of the perfect image we’ve created, getting help from the brands we trust, and just having fun doing what we love.

I about died of laughter while watching this video and being reminded of just how crazy our passionate daydreams can make us…

Mott’s® Snack & Go Original applesauce pouches are the applesauce I’ve always trusted, just prepped to go. They help us remain sane and happy in our crafty, creative, on the go lifestyle. They are an excellent source of vitamin C and the Mott’s® Snack & Go Natural applesauce pouches have no sugar added. My kid’s have been loving the fun flavor combination of the Mott’s Snack & Go Strawberry applesauce pouches lately – perfect for my creative, active, and ready to run kids.

Be passionate, but be kind to yourself. Get help when you can… and craft on friends. You are amazing moms!
