Pink Halloween Mantel

It’s not quite October, but once the fall weather hits I can’t help but get the house ready for the season. Since we decided to transform our living room mantel into a statement of my love of pink last year, I thought it would be a fun challenge to create a Halloween mantel that was just a little spooky, mostly fun, and centered around my favorite color in the universe!

Luckily, The Dollar Tree wanted to be a part of it and with their killer selection of Halloween supplies, and the always affordable one dollar price tag we were able to create a passionate pink Halloween mantel that rings in the holiday in true ASR fashion.

All the details below of how we created this pink-on-pink-on-spooky-pink mantel fun.

The first thing I knew was that I wanted hands stacked in the fireplace like wood. Because we needed a little spooky factor and they ended up being one of my favorite elements to the design!

I purchased these hands from The Dollar Tree, which are actually serving utensils and painted them pink. It took all of 8 minutes to spray them and another 2 to stack them with our wood. And it instantly turned our room into a spooky Halloween space.

The next thing we purchased was all the glittered purple/pink spiders they had in store. Because, how could I not? Three glittered purple spiders for one dollar is just about the best deal imaginable. I hung them with command strips which stick to the fireplace brick really well.

I also snagged a couple of these creepy bird skeletons and you guessed it, painted them pink also. ;) The great thing about painting Halloween decorations is that it’s totally acceptable to have a little grey hanging out still here and there, it just makes the skeletons look more real. There is no need for perfection here, just spray both sides and let dry for a mantel of your favorite color fantasy to come to life!

I also sprayed the large bats on the wall above the mantel and the spider webs pink to use for the spiders above.

Lastly we transformed a package of bats that you can find in store into great Halloween decorations adding a pink honeycomb to each bat body.

Add in the best dead pink flowers you can find and pink velvet pumpkins for a Halloween Mantel that will make the entire family smile. Halloween colorful fun without all the black & spook.

Do you create a holiday themed mantel at home? This is our first one and it brought me so much joy, I might just start doing one every month for whatever holiday is coming next. It really creates a festive centerpiece to the living room and announces the holiday without having tchotchkes everywhere.
