Growing up in the dessert, fall was always bittersweet to me. I loved the season but my 100 degree experience never quite matched the leaf falling, boot clad vision in my head. Now that I live in a town with a real fall (hooray!), I thought it would be nice to pay tribute to those who still have a bit of heat to come. This pumpkin burbon slushie gives the best taste of the season in that it’s-still-bloddy-hot kind of way.
To make the pumpkin burbon slushie, you will need one jar frozen lemonade concentrate, one can of pumpkin, one and a half cups brown sugar, four cups brewed black tea and two cups burbon. Mix all ingredients together in a rimmed baking dish and let freeze overnight. Serve as a dessert in cups with spoons, or serve in glasses mixed with a quarter cup tonic water for a festive fall drink.
PS. This is a cute idea for laced up water bottles for fall.
Oh my goodness, yes please!
Do you mean Bourbon?
