reason to celebrate | a beautiful mess

Elsie Larson is one of my favorite bloggers. Her DIY style is always so sweet and her recent wedding completely lives up. Did you see it on Style Me Pretty yesterday? I spotted this gorgeous black and white printed love bunting in her photos and have not been able to get it out of my mind. What an easy idea that looks perfectly playful. The bunting manages to be gorgeous yet not at all stuffy.

Recreate the look by cutting down foam board (the thickness will allow it to hang straight, unlike paper) and grabbing a big fat black marker. Draw shapes, words, and designs- imperfections included. I can envision a room full of these for our next birthday party (Love!).

  1. the black and white perfectly complements the streamers and balloons. and smart to use foam board. i’ve tried paper bunting similar to this and was a little frustrated when it wouldn’t lay the way I wanted.

  2. This is such fun and the rest of the wedding was just amazing too! I so want to get married again – to the same person of course – just to do someting so fun! Hugs, Stephie x

  3. Hello!

I just love this idea! I saw it on Modern Parents Messy Kids – looks like a super wedding party too.
I’m writing a post on my blog (Adventures At Home) about a quill writing /drawing activity I’ve recently done with my children. We were inspired by the wedding bunting to make our inky practice-cards into black and white baby bunting (to give to new parents as gifts). Will link to your blog in my post of course – just wanted to let you know. Hope that’s OK. Thanks for the inspiration! Julia x
