I just love when our favorite books come to the big screen. It is really fun for the kids to see characters they’ve come to love made in large movie form. For the soon coming release of Shaun The Sheep we are gathering a few friends and having another movie screening party. I can’t seem to get enough of sweet, kid friendly movies this summer. I’ve begun the planning and have been looking around for ideas. And you guys… the Internet does not disappoint. Here are a few of my favorite links and tips for hosting a Shaun the Sheep movie party.
In planning a kid’s movie party (we’ve done a couple of them by now) the best ideas I find use simple party crafts in new and thematic ways. Including elements the kids can wear into the movies is always a hit! Whipping up character inspired snacks to enjoy beforehand, or maybe bring into the theaters seem to really get them excited. Since we don’t see too many movies together – I love making a big deal of the ones we decided to watch and support.
These bright and festive Shaun The Sheep hats are great party hats. We can wear them for the screening and I imagine the kids will be excitedly wearing them all week long! Get the full party hat DIY right here.
An adorable favor bag that is the perfect size for sending home a small toy sheep and paper back book. Simple stripes and a printable sheep… in fact everything about this Shaun the Sheep birthday party is done right.
Ewe-dorable (see what I did there?) cupcakes. A chocolate cupcake, marshmallow topping and a printable sheep head – find the detailed DIY right here.

A few other crafty sheep party ideas I’d love to try… How to make a Shaun the Sheep cake | Printable party invitation | How to draw Shaun the Sheep (great for older kids) | Pom pom sheep & Shaun the Sheep veggies for making lunch boxes after seeing the movie.
In case you have no idea what I am talking about you can see all about it right here and check out all the reviews the movie is already getting over on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie came out already in the U.K. and has raving reviews flowing in. It’s going to be a great end of summer family flick to watch… Coming to a theater near ewe August 5th.
