spice up your tailgating this fall

Make team spirit tailgate napkins by adding adhesive stickers to store bought paper napkins.

It’s officially tailgate season. We love to spice our tailgates up – from our table decor, to the condiments, to the Hebrew National hot dogs we serve, tailgating is a hosting challenge I am always happy to accept.

This year, I turned a set of everyday party napkins into a fun team spirit tailgate supply by adding small (2 inch) vinyl adhesive letters to them. Offer up cheers of team support, or spell out the Alma Mater for an easy way to spice up a tailgate table.

We also spice up our tailgates up by bringing along my almost-famous spicy garlic infused ketchup. It is a simple recipe that packs a great punch – the team will quickly start begging you for the details. We love this creative ketchup update so much, we made it origionally for a tailgate and have ended up using it daily.

To make the spicy garlic infused ketchup start with a 1/2 cup Hunt’s ketchup. Combine 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp onion powder, and a dash of red pepper over medium heat until the garlic is just fragrant. Add in the ketchup and quickly mix until combined. Take the sauce off the heat and pour into a condiment bowl – allow it to cool. You can make this sauce up to 3 days ahead of time, I actually love the flavor better after it sits for a day or two. Cover tightly and store in the fridge until it’s tailgate time!

The garlic infused ketchup pairs great with Gulden’s spicy mustard and the combo makes for a Hebrew National hot dog that your fellow fans will love.

With grilling season upon us, everyone is craving an all-American hot dog. What makes a kosher hot dog different? It’s all about what makes the cut (and
what doesn’t). Hebrew National is choosy about what goes into their franks – only 100% pure kosher beef so you know what you’re getting and they taste great. No artificial flavors, colors, fillers or byproducts.
