what is your reason to celebrate?

While in San Diego last week I enjoyed a small side project. I walked around and asked quite a few women (mostly strangers) what their reason for celebrating was. I have high hopes of compiling this together for you because their answers are so sweet, and moving, and some are just really fun.

In the meantime, I’d like to ask you the same question. What reason do you have to celebrate today? I’d love for you to share your reason with me, if you wouldn’t mind.

Happy, happy Friday!

PS. I will be introducing my new group of fall series next week and new celebration resources for you (fall is my favorite!). Have  a great weekend, see you Monday.

blessings.

  1. This weekend we are celebrating a birthday – a special birthday – my grandfather is turning 88 years old. He is the best granddad anyone could wish for, he is funny, thoughtful and tough as nails and you’d think he’s 70. I am very grateful that both my children (2.5 and 4) get to spend so much time with their great-grandparents – something not many of us have had the chance to do.

  2. I celebrate today because I feel content and happy when I wake up in the morning. I am finally surrounded by friends that I love, in a city that I love, with a job that I love. Things are good.

  3. I love this idea, Victoria! I would love to read people’s answers from off the street :) I love your blog because it makes me think of just that–reasons to celebrate!
My reason to celebrate is that even though being in a long distance relationship is hard every day, I’m blessed to have the relationship. My boyfriend John is my best friend in the world, and I know it’ll all be worth it when we do get to be together every day!

  4. Today is my three year anniversary with my fiance. We’re long distance, but we get to spend part of this weekend together. This is pretty celebratory, not only because we’ve never been able to spend this day together before.

  5. Taking a moment to reflect on our blessings is such a wonderful way to spend Friday! I’m delighted to have my blog redesign in the works, and I’m snacking on a piece of birthday cake-horray!

  6. Today after I got off work I went out in my back garden, drank some tea and whiskey, and celebrated the end of a work day with my cat purring down at my feet.

I think my biggest reason to celebrate would be that although I don’t know what I want for my life yet, I’m thankful for the options available. I’ll celebrate the opportunities I have, the doors yet to open, the roads I’ve yet to step on.

  7. What a wonderful question! And also some times difficult to answer…

Today I realise that I have a lot of reasons for celebrate in my life, although some times I don’t pay enough attention on that.
And today I paid attention thanks to my best friend. So I thing that today my reason to celebrate is that although I am an only child I found an incredible sister!

Thanks you for this moment of reflection!

  8. what a fun idea!
Reason to celebrate? After 3 months of marriage, hubz and I finally have a bed! No more mattresses on the floor! And can now make our home ours. Reason to celebrate for sure.

  9. Best friends! And a God who loves us! And children who are so squeezable! And just because it is one more day of health and peace and hope!

  10. love this idea! life has given me a bumpy ride for the last year or so, but i’ve been feeling lately that there are lots of reasons to celebrate… my first day of teaching at my new job is tomorrow; my parents and my sister are in good health; i’ve made some new friends; and i feel open to possibility–maybe leading to more things to celebrate down the road!
