Make a beautiful and colorful combination of sprinkles and candy to fill the center of your cake with.
-
Find a cookie cutter or a round shape (I sometimes use the top of a cup and trace around it with a knife) to make a circle/hole in the middle of your cooled cake. Make sure the size of the hole leaves at least 2-3 inches of cake around the hole on all sides.
-
Using your cookie cutter (or knife), cut the sized hole from the center of your cake and discard the center hole (or save it and eat it later). Do this to all layers EXCEPT FOR THE TOP LAYER OF YOUR CAKE.
-
Assemble your cake on a cake board, layer by layer, with buttercream in between each layer of cake, leaving the center hole of your cake buttercream free. Do this with all layers except for the top layer of your cake.
-
Fill the center hole of your cake to the top with your colorful combination of sprinkles and candy.
-
Place your top layer of cake (the layer without the hole) on top of your cake so that the candy/sprinkle filled hole is covered.
-
Ice and decorate your cake.
